Shaders help?

Got a problem here... I've been using MAW with the March set of shaders, and it's been really very nice - but now there is something that's gone wrong, and I can't work out what it is. The problem is that MAW will not run with the Ankor's shaders. Put them in, it locks up between the little start screen and the full start screen - little start screen as usual, then it goes full-screen all black instead of showing the full-screen start screen, and it locks there. Remove the shaders package again and it runs perfectly. As I've made each change - glossiness values and suchlike - I've backed up the previous file, and as a result of this, I've now gone back completely to the last known good set-up. Still no joy with the package installed.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Edit - Just found the d3d8 log. This may mean something to somebody:

19.91: FakeDevice::LoadSpecialTextures - Cube Texture
19.94: FakeDevice::LoadSpecialTextures - WOFF Cube Texture - FAILED. HR = 0x88760B59
19.95: FakeDevice::LoadSpecialTextures - CFS3 Cube Texture - FAILED. HR = 0x80004005
19.95: FakeDevice::LoadCubeTextureFrom2D

Further - it's not just MAW, it's all my installs, which means that it's not something I fiddled with. This has just come up from my WW1 install of CFS3 (not OFF, but using OFF aircraft etc)

87.49: FakeDevice::present - Error - FAILED. HR = 0x88760868
87.63: FakeDevice::present - Error - FAILED. HR = 0x88760868

I just checked my MAW and surely enough it reads:

452.11: FakeDevice::LoadSpecialTextures - Cube Texture
452.11: FakeDevice::LoadSpecialTextures - WOFF Cube Texture - FAILED. HR = 0x88760B59
452.11: FakeDevice::LoadSpecialTextures - CFS3 Cube Texture - FAILED. HR = 0x80004005

Yet everything works like a charm. I'm pretty sure that's not the root of the problem.

I remember having a similar issue when I was fooling around with the shaders30 folder files, for example replacing the Generic.fx with the Generic - Copy.fx (and of course renaming accordingly) for one reason or another resulted in the black screen crash. No idea what's the difference between them but it didn't want to run with both.

As the first test I'd take the entire March package out and replace it with the complete July package and see if it works. If it doesn't, I'd copy everything from a working install and then see if it works. If it still doesn't, I'm out of ideas.

Just removed the previous set and reinstalled the complete July package, and it's working again. You tell me...
