I'm pinning this with a caveat. The external model has been given generally good reviews at the MSFS forum, but the systems apparently still need work. Still, the price may still convince many to purchase now and hope for updates.

Here's the thread on the "official" forum, with the developer posting updates:

I believe that's the same airplane that Rob Richardson released for FSX quite a few years ago. I will be picking that one up for sure!

Well, I'm reserving my opinion until I have a chance to actually fly it beyond a couple of miles. My first look was marred by the gauge panel which had a carbon fiber look, however the individual squares were easily 1" (or more) making the overall look kinda. . .ewwww! There's only one model/livery so I guess I'll get used to it, but I don't want to, lol

After take off I headed north (from Waco, Tx) to fly to my home airport (KGYI). I turned on the AP and tapped the ALT button and it crashed the Sim. Sooooooooo, I decided to walk away from the computer and go do some T-Shirts I had to finish for a company! I may try again this evening.

Second flight went better although I could not get the PFD to come on at all but luckily I have the payware GTN750 so I did have a display to fly by. The panel, as it turns out is not an enlarged carbon fiber texture, it's just a panel design I hope they change at some point, lol. Aside from those items the rest of the cockpit is nicely done but I am looking through the manual to see if the pilot is removable in the VC (something I never cared for with early sim versions (FS9/FSX).

The more I fly it the better I like it. Still many functions that are inop but the developers are dedicated to regular updates which is encouraging.

This from Dominik at PropAir
"In May there will be a major update package including a new livery, instrument updates and bug fixes"

Good News!

If anyone has flown this beauty, can you tell me if there is a way to remove the pilot from the VC?

At this point, I think you may be the only one of us that has!
Yes, it does kinda appear that way. I have noticed that there are times when I get into the Sim that the pilot is gone. The manual doesn't mention anything about it and I'm unable to find any "secret" click spot that would remove it. I've mentioned it in the Discord but no answer yet. Maybe the coming update will address it.

The promised update has been released! If you have not yet purchased, it appears that the new price has been increased from the original so purchasing early had it's perks even if the airplane was in need of some additional work. If you did purchase when it was originally released just go to your purchase page and download the update.

Ok, standby until Monday. There is a glitch that has been discovered in the new G3X version of the Shark where it works for the developers but doesn't for those who downloaded the update. A new update will be released Monday!

For anyone who purchased the Shark 600, the latest Hot-Fix has corrected and updated many bugs found in the original release. Given the lack of response to the airplane there may not be any that took the leap but it was a favorite of mine from FSX/P3D when Rob Richardson developed the Shark and even the original release was enjoyable. The good thing is that the developers are devoted to listening to criticisms and working to improve this little gem.

Dang it. I was going to pick this up given the great price, and now it’s priced more appropriately. Rats.
It's in a much better state with the latest updates and they have included a paint kit as well so hopefully we'll see some nice liveries. The PK seems pretty straight forward, even I may try my hand at a few. Their Discord page is pretty active as well and they have done a nice job of listening to users and helping with individual problems as they arise.

I am hoping this gets resolved as it is becoming a nuisance. The original release had a full pilot model in the VC ca. FS9. It's annoying because it constantly flickers in and out as I move around the cockpit and I want it gone. It's the only thing about the Shark that is on my "bad" list. I have asked three times now since it was released and the only reply I got was from Dominik (I assume the developer) and he said it was added to the to-do list prior to the work on the update, but it's still there. I've asked again with a bit more gusto this time. It's not a total deal breaker but for those who used to complain about things that killed their immersion factor, this would be it for me, lol.

Interestingly it turns out that when I was explaining the problem of the pilot model in the VC they didn't understand what the VC was. I thought that was common knowledge among airplane developers but apparently not. Anyway they want a screenshot of what I'm talking about so they can "see the problem". More to come!

It's been a long time since there was a difference between a 2D panel and a 3D "virtual cockpit" like the FS9/FSX days. My bet is some of these dev's are just too young to remember them, or at least didn't get involved in flight simulation in general until after sims did away with 2D panels.

Just had a text conversation on the discord page and after seeing some screenshots I took the developer understood the problem and promised to fix it.
