Ship DP Question

SOH-CM-2025
Hi All:wavey:
I have another Ship DP question.
Some ships systems that have the term 'sinker associated with them. An example is shown below. (From SHA Indianapolis)
"system_name.0"=deck_aft_16
"system_name.1"=deck_aft_18

(I have removed lines for ease of reading)

"system_name.31"=deck_aft_16_sinker
"system_name.32"=deck_aft_18_sinker

Is there any significance to this?

They also have different damage points.
system.0=%system_name.0%,20000,-1
system.1=%system_name.1%,20000,-2

(Again. I have removed lines for ease of reading)

system.31=%system_name.31%,10000,-32
system.32=%system_name.32%,10000,-33

Is there any significance to this?
Cheers
Stuart

I believe the intent of the sinkers is just that. If a bomb hits and destroys them the ship should sink. That would be my guess and what I have run with my DPs. they are tied into the systems so if a section is destroyed the same result occurs.

I would consider it deck armor.

Are they needed? well take them out and sink the ship. You'll see the results.
