Hey folks
I was investigating the issue of my bendix king radios not displaying their frequency info, I looked in the gauges directory and only found a bendix_king_radio.dll file. Shouldn't there be a bendix king cab or gau file there?

That dll file contains the info for the gauges just like a cab file does. I noticed that the default FSX aircraft have a dll file and when I open that in FSPanel Studio, it contains the same info as a cab.

All .gau and .dll files are gauges written in compiled C/C++ code.

All .cab files are gauges scripted using XML and then compressed into a "Cabinet" (.cab) file.
