Hello All,

Thsi is probably the wrong forum, but here I am. Just found a Sidewinder 3D Pro left behind at a bank repo. I can run it as a generic 6 button w/ POV and throttle. However, I would prefer to find a way to make it work "right". Can anyone piont me in the right direction for drivers? I've been googling myself blind! I already need glasses (contacts).:redf: Take pity on poor, ethical, Realtor (thats why I'm poor).

My wife knows that if she sees a Microsoft Sidewinder joystick at a yard sale to go ahead and pick it up for me. She got a Sidewinder Precision 2 the other day for $3. It's tight enough that it seems to be a low mileage stick but didn't get the drivers. I'm hoping that the default drivers will be okay with it. It's missing one button that my SW Precision Pro has, but I can work around that.

I'm still flying the Sidewinder Precission Pro that I bought about 12+ years ago.
The twist rudder is getting a little loose but it still runs fine for me.

My Sidewinder Precision Pro had started not centering well and has a little slop there. It's still very flyable, just can be a little bit squirrely when slewing.

Hi

Well, I still have my second sidewinder 3D pro and it has never needed drivers, once connected it was recognized by Windows as Sidewinder 3D Pro and that was it.

However, I have to admit that it has been plugged into the computer via an USB adaptor for the last 6 or 7 years

Regards

How's this?

Go to Settings > Assignments > Slew mode and delete the controller assignments. Then use the keyboard for slewing.

Hello All,

Every link I find leads back to MS which is BS because they do not have it on there site any more. I could get the Mac version, but not Windows version. If anyone has drivers, I'd be truly thankful. The 3D Pro I found is is perfect condition. It has more than 6 buttons, the max on the generic joystick choices. In computer terms, I am obsolete by many years!

Out of curiosity Dan, what is your operating system? I will see what I can come up with for you

You shouldn't need to install the drivers if you're running the stick on Windows XP.

Windows XP fully patched and updated. I found the Sidewinder 3D Pro abandoned in one of the repo'd houses I am working with. They did not leave the USB adapter, so I am using the game port from a Sound Blaster PCI card. The thing looks cherry, and I have used with the generic Windows 6 Button joystick with POV and throttle. Works well, just cannot use all of the buttons. Will try the drivers OleBoy. Thanks so much.

Downloaded drivers, extracted, ran compatibility wizard, the tried to run .exe. Keeps telling me I need to have an Administrator Account to run program. I have ONLY one account, and it is an administrator account:banghead: Any ideas anyone?
