Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 Joystick

I have recently upgraded my OS to Windows 7 and have installed Combat Flight Simulators 1,2 and 3. The joystick is "recognized" by Widows 7 and also shows in the three simulators when I open Settings ad configure controls. It controls all aspects in Sim 2 and 3 but not at all in 1. When I open settings in 1 I get a gobledegook warning that joystick settings have changed and do I want to re-set but there is no sign of any joystick if I open that box.
As CFS1 is my favourite simulator I would be very grateful for any advice leading to me being able to use the joystick with it.
As I am a very new member I apologise in advance if this problem has been dealt with previously and I also wish you all a very Happy Christmas.

Gentlemen,

Thank you all for you kind and quick response to my query. I shall work on them later this evening and I shall look forward to studying the projects you have kindly passed on.

With grateful thanks and kind regards

Peter

Gentlemen,

Many thanks for your guidance and kindness. Have managed to get CFS 1 to recognise the Sidewinder and am thus able to fly my Spitfires again. Very strange the way it brings back the memories of seeing them in 1940 and later.
I'll now tackle the scenarios you have kindly recommended.
My grateful thanks and kind regards to you all.
Happy Christmas
Peter

great news, peter.

it gets a little tricky
if you want to make changes
to the controller assignments.
if you do, let us know
and we'll guide you through it.

if you're interested in multi player,
the aac <(click for a forum link) meets every sunday.
there's nothing like flying with
and against real pilots.
at present, they're practicing
for the upcoming dam buster mission.

as No_Dice stated, the freeflight site
has a ton of first class addons for cfs.
check out hubba's stuff and Ivan's planes.
you won't be disappointed.

that should keep you busy for a while.
have fun and don't be a stranger
