SIE aircraft damage dds's and related affects

What is the name of the damage dds? The damage dds files may look generic, but the ones I've looked at seem to match the layout of wings, fuselage etc from the main texture sheet. So adding a damage dds to an aircraft, I would think the aircraft texture sheet would need to be the exact same layout as the donor aircraft's one.

Just my tuppence worth in the absence of other more qualified comments!
 
Well I know I can't add anything which related to special emitters such as the cockpit. I thought you had messed with this??
