Silly question?

Or not!
I have usually deleted most of the default aircraft from all of my FS installations, retaining the one used for the default flight.
When I say 'delete' I should qualify that by adding that I back them up to a remote HD.
I prefer to have as little clutter as possible, and as I dislike the clunky P3D interface I would like to follow my usual practice.
Any thoughts?
I think it should be a non event but I'd rather ask the question before I pull the trigger.
TIA

You can do that. I just rename the aircraft panel folders to something else, which hides them from the menu but leaves the aircraft in place for AI purposes.

And you can ofcourse mark an aircraft as 'favourite' and then select the 'only show favourites' option.

Just rename the panel.cfg of the aircraft you dont want to panel.bak

That way they wont appear in the selection menu but appear as AI

It's a very good technique indeed. Quite useful when it comes to removing from the aircraft list all of the useless entries created by the MilViz weapons and TacPack weapons and effects...
From my side, I just renamed the "panel" folder to "expanel" or whatever, instead of just the file. The result is the same :)
