Sim Beta Update 5

Ohh boy. Here we go again...

There's a default King Air 350 with no engine data on screen after FOUR sim updates. Just delete the damned thing, along with all the others that you can't fix FFS.

Oh boy. I went to opt out because of my experiences with SU3 and SU4 -- was gonna give them a few weeks to fix egregious issues and then join in. So I opted out of Xbox Preview app.

However, they are moving to a web-based opt-in. I figured I'd opt in there once I saw there were no big issues. Except... I'd already opted in, apparently, because I wanted to check out the PS5 beta last year.

So, guess I'm an early guinea pig for SU5, because the update kicked in when I launched MSFS before I realized I was opted in on the preview site.

Edit: Yep, first release is a fustercluck. Lockups after flight, etc. Reverting to SU4.

Well I hope the experience is a positive one for you, and if you ever get the chance to give any feedback PLEASE ask them to remove ALL of the default aircraft with bugs/faults until they are fixed and fit for final release.

I've just read the SU5 Beta release notes hoping to see something about AI air traffic improvements but there's nothing unless I missed it.
Some improvements to vehicle and boat traffic are mentioned, if I read correctly - road traffic over bridges for one, so that's something I suppose.
PS5 issues seem to be most important right now in general which is fair enough, CTD's in multiplayer on THAT platform would be a disaster...
Also good to see a long list of SDK improvements, though the missing 'sim refresh' function isn't mentioned so all the third-party dev's need to shout louder about that one!

The only thing important for me: a new Blender exporter in the SDK 2024 which come with this SU5.
Perhaps, I will begin to study this SDK more seriously  since RonH felt that the previous version (in SU4) was starting to mature.
