Sim won't close down !

The past few days I have found that when I hit the quit button the sim won't completely shut down and I have to use the Task Manager to close the game down. Not had this before although I can see on some of the forums that this seems to be a sporadic issue.
 
Does Alt+F4 work? If so, you might be able to avoid the Safe Mode start offer that you normally get after using the Task Manager.

Personally, I've had the sim take as much as 10 seconds to close after using the UI method, but it has never hung more than that.
 
For some reason using the Task Manager doesn't seem to result in a "safe mode" option warning on re-start. I will try the Alt+F4 Tom thanks. I am also working through to see if Add-on manager , Tobii or some other add on is causing the SIM not to close.
 
I haven't had that problem with MSFS 2020, but frequently with MSFS 2024. Best way I have found is to Go to Settings > All Apps and scroll to MSFS 2024 and right-click, then go to More > App Settings. In App Settings scroll to Terminate and left-click. That will do it.

Just wait , it use to solve it self after a few seconds ~
