A week ago, JimmyPaquet recommended a freeware HUD to replace the one from Acceleration. See http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showpost.php?p=235555&postcount=5 and sequelae. (This gauge also works in Dino's Tomcat and Goshawk.)
I've been using it, but there was one thing I didn't love, which was the hand-drawn alpha symbol (for angle of attack). For a typeset one (like you have in Acceleration), copy the three .bmp files FROM the attached .zip archive INTO the freeware HUD folder and overwrite -- after you back up the originals, that is!
If you installed it in the usual place, the freeware HUD folder is probably C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Gauges\FA18_HUD_VC.
