Any of you guys from the 60s remember this band. This was one of my favorite songs.

'The Small Faces' had a number of hits in the UK in the late 60's but broke up in '69. Some members went on to form 'The Faces' and they released one album and then they became known as 'Rod Stewart and the Faces' and went on to release many more tracks. When that band split up Rod Stewart went solo and guitarist Ronnie Wood joined the Rolling Stones and is still playing with them to this day.

One of my favorite bands back then to....love that little track and others called "Mad John" from "Ogden's...." album.

In the navy when this album was released, wore the damn thing out because of taping a 2 bob bit to the pick up head on the player to stop it skating across the vinyl in anything more then a mild sea.:bump:

Founded in the dawning days of the '60s British beat boom, the Tea Time Four was a quartet led by singer Boz Burrell, who also played rhythm guitar. They became a top band in Norfolk and had a reputation for challenging the better-known acts for whom they opened. The group, which specialized in performing a jazzy style of American R&B, underwent several membership changes, with players such as Mike Prior and Fats Dean passing through their lineup. Their big move came in 1965 when they relocated to London in an effort to make the big time and added keyboard player Ian McLagan to their lineup. It's a surprise you guys up close to the sixty mark are not paying homage to the flower children of Woodstock '69, 40th anniversary...it was just a little before my time. It's right about that time now. It's groovy...far out man. Some people say if you were around about that time you wouldn't remember it anyway.

Small Faces went to to become The Faces yes, but the singer was Steve Marriott who fronted Humble Pie afterwards with Peter Frampton ex of The Herd. Sadly he died in a house fire in Essex UK in the 80's. He had a great soul voice.
Ask me another.... lol
 
All the music in the world ... Though ... I wasn't a fan of the Small Faces, but remember listening to the "Stay With Me" Rod Stewart voiced Faces on the radio from Dallas KRLD. Bought the album.
Steve Marriot, the lead vocalist in Small Faces, formed Humble Pie with Peter Frampton, Greg Riddley and Jerry Shirley, and later Dave "Clem" Clemson replaced Frampton.
That was a rocking band.
I and friends drove six hours there and back I think it was to Tarrant County Convention Center in Fort Worth, on a college school night, to see Humble Pie, with great opener Robin Trower.

Wow man, sorry, but I'm not sure. I must have licked a tab too many of the brown acid with the purple dot or was it the purple acid with the brown dots. He man, anybody got a cookie or some trail mix. I got the munchies.

its just amazing how much the 'Blues' influenced all those heavy hitters from the 60's:applause:
 
Little did Ringo Starr know his dinky little song "With a little help from my friends" was going to turn into a rip snorting, fire breathing headline for Joe Cocker and band at Woodstock...just a pity about the backing vocals, otherwise it's my favorite version of that song.

How about this bband from back in the mid 60s. We used to go see them live at Potsdam State back in 67 and 68. The one song they did that I can't find is Cheryl's Song. One of their best IMO.
