So I felt like taking screenshots, right?

CalClassic's CV-580 at the gate in KCOS after a short hop from KDEN.
The model and panel work very well in FSX, but the non-working starters (FS9 code...) spoil the fun big time. :(

Rich Schwerdtfeger and Bill Leaming's Navion. A great GA aircraft for us tube drivers. It's fast, has a tricycle landing gear and after a panel mod you won't even miss your glass gauges! :icon_lol:

Just to show off Pablo Diaz' HD clouds for FS9 (Thread here). As long as you refrain from installing the sky textures (crashed my FSX), you'll get some really neat looking cumulus and cirrus clouds in that package.
Shot number two features FSND's Cessna 310Q.

Disclaimer: I'm not paying for medical treatment of any case of eye cancer caused by looking at those screenshots or their thumbnails. ;P

Some brilliant screenshots Bjoern.

Love the clouds. They have become pretty popular. I'll have to check them out.

Love the gauges in that Navion as well!

The starters in the newest version of the 580 do work in FSX (follow the starting instructions carefully), as does the 2D panel and the new and fully functional VC.

Umm...I think I had the newest version, and no, the starters were not working correctly, but displaying the "onoffonoffonoffonoff..." behaviour often seen in FS9 coded starters in FSX.

Thanks for the praise, Bill. :)

They work for me. When did you download the 580 and did you get it from CalClassics or somewhere else?

Yeah, got it straight from the CC homepage.

Maybe I effed up the FSX conversion process at one point or didn't follow the proper startup procedures. While being quite extensive, I find the documentation of the CV-580 unnecessarily cluttered. A checklist for example could have worked wonders...

Bjoerrn bigger mate, bigger so we can see em, great weather but boring planes and I consider you a mate so go bigger matey!

Here's a crash course for starting the engines.

Set the parking brake, set master switches to Batt&Ground and power source switch to Ground (this simulates an outside electric generator unit).

Throttles at idle.

On the center console above the warning indicators you will see two silver buttons, these are the low rpm switches. Push in the right side switch.

On the overhead panel, set right engine fuel booster pump "on", set the Start Selector to "Ground", right engine Fuel & Ignition switch "on", push in the right engine Start button, wait for the right engine to start, it takes longer than a piston engine.

Once the right engine is up to speed, turn off the right booster pump, set the power source switch to "Battery", turn on the right generator, and pull out the right engine low rpm button.

Push in the low RPM switch for the left engine, turn on the left booster pump, set the start selector to "Bleed", turn on the left engine Fuel & Ignition switch, push the left engine start button. Once the left engine is running be sure to turn off the booster pump, turn on the left generator and pull out the left engine low rpm button.

Warning, the 580 tends to lurch forward during start up, even with brakes set.

You, sir, have just been awarded a virtual beer!
