• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

SOH annual January Donation Drive...

Hey guys,

We got off to a strong start, but donations have slowed in recent days, and I want to pass along a reminder that the SOH Donation Drive is underway with the start of 2016. Most of the older members already know this, and many of you have already donated, but more donations from members who have not done so yet are needed. We have three weeks to go, and we are 45% of the way to our goal.

I know that we have some new members and faces in CFS2, so in case you are unaware, this site is entirely user-funded, and we have one donation drive per year to raise the funds we need to keep this site (and our hobby) going strong. Because the site is user-funded, we avoid the ads and many of the download limiters found on other sites.

So, if you have donated, great! For those who have not, you don't have to give an enormous amount, even five dollars will be a big help. The more people donate a little, the less burden will be placed on everyone. If you can't donate for financial reasons, that's fine, no guilt trip intended.

If you can, please do so today!

I do think we should hold a mid year drive. Right now many may be tapped out from xmas spending...

I've brought that up before. Unfortunately, January is when the bill comes due, so we are bound by scheduling. I felt the pain too after Christmas...
 
I know that but still a drive done mid year (this year) could be saved up for 2017.

I believe the "Contribute now" button works all year round too :monkey:

The sad fact is there are "contributor" members (financial & otherwise), & there are "user" members, just here for the downloads...:cower:

Good morning,

We're still only 65% of the way to our goal, please spread the word and get as many of our basement friends to donate as possible. Every little bit helps!

I have never done an A/C , scenery or missions, etc to this sim ( I don't think I am smart enough) and appreciate it very much and the work done by others. Surely at least $25 could come out of the personal budget to keep things rolling. In my area that is less than a meal for two eating out!
I can say this because I am too a "user" :encouragement:
 
Despite living in one of the most expensive countries in the world and with a pension of 1000 usd/month, I did my donation long time ago,completely broke after christmas I even make an owerdraw of my account to donate 20 usd.
