SOH seems to have Server issues currently… since a few days, i have enormouse loong loading times to access the Site…
Sometimes the site even does not respond to its server…

Any others who have the same problems currently?

Is it possible to fix ?

Thank you…

There are times it just seems to hang or lag. We haven't been able to figure it out. It is not consistent. We did have an instance in November where a LLM AI was scanning the forums and breaking them because they access the site too many times in a given hour. There is a chance that is the issue again.

That is about all I have to offer.

To me it rather feels like the Site has been hacked… as the lag is not just sometimes.. but literally everytime when i want to access the website… regardless of which browser i use… its literally happening on every browser… also i have completely cleaned my cookies… and it still lags massively everytime regardless of which browser i use…

I never had that before but since a week or so its become an unbearably unuseable site…

For the most part it's been working fine for me. There has been the occasional bit of lag but those have been very infrequent. I am certainly not seeing the conditions you describe so maybe it's on your connection somewhere from Europe?

No problems here either, except for the occasional DOS, (Denial of Service,) attacks restricting access.

We aren't seeing any issues with that frequency. One of the biggest problems is the issue doesn't come up often enough to truly troubleshoot it. The couple of times it caught it while it was happening it was over in a few minutes. It's just very hard to track down.

now working fine again... on my portable at least... (not sure on my computer)... don't know what has changed meanwhile…

Edit: just tested it on my computer and seems to work again here as well…
So thank you, to everyone who worked on it to change things…

Issues could be more than just your equipment.
There is all the equipment between point a and point b that the signal has to pass through, and if any of that equipment is having a problem, it tends to bottleneck the signal flow.

The point being, your signal is only as fast as the slowest point on the internet. :)

I asked Google about possible causes for the website hanging from time to time.

"The size of a forum significantly affects website performance, primarily due to increased server load, larger database queries, and heavier page payloads that slow down load times for users. While the sheer number of posts (the "size" of the archive) does not necessarily slow down individual page loads, a large, active forum with heavy, unoptimized pages can cause performance degradation. "

If that would’ve been the point though, all the other websites would’ve been as slow as SOH was at that time… or not even responding at all to the Servers… allthough, every other website worked totally fine and very very fast, as my internet connection is usually very fast here in switzerland and most of the time works flawless (unless i do not pay the bills - which is not the case luckily). So it has been an issue with the SOH Webserver or Website… not on my site :D

However its now been solved and working as it should.
