Sold my house last week

Navy Chief

Senior Member
Finally sold my house up in TN last Friday. I lost a great deal of money invested in the property, due to the poor economy, but that's just the way things are. Decided to cut my losses before I lost any more money, due to things going wrong with the house, etc...

But on the bright side, no more mortgage, property taxes, or insurance.

This past Christmas was so sad for me, having lost my beloved dog, "Chief". I decided to sell my Chevy HHR, as it was a constant reminder of Chief, and I had bought that particular model so Chief could ride comfortably.
So last week, I decided to get what I'd always wanted: a convertible. I found a low-mileage 2010 Mazda Miata Hard Top Convertible. And it is a BLAST!

So in a short space of time, I've gone through a lot of changes. Moved to Sanibel Island (paradise) this past July. Chief died, and now my house has sold.

Life is getting better.

Pete

Congratulations, hopefully 2012 is looking up for yoou. Next instalment, I expect to hear that you have a brassy blonde on your arm and have taken up scuba. :kilroy::icon_lol:

Congrats Pete!

Wear a hat-really get sunburned down here!
Happened to me just once

Hmm, well, I am already YMCA Scuba certified, and started dating a "brassy blonde" about a week ago:) !

Told ya those Miatas are fun! Yours is a little newer than ours, looks like it's gonna be a good investment for you.

A clean break is the best. I don't know where these folks in the news get their figures about what percentage of homes in this country are underwater, I can tell you it's a darn sight more than just 25%. We lost money as well when we moved from VA down here due to my retirement. Flip side - no more mortgage payment (that's being met by the renters down here), no more upkeep, no lawn to mow - just the beach whenever we want it:applause:.

Stay ready for the next adventure!

Brassy blonde ???!!? Don't think I've heard that expression before....... What horn does she prefer to blow; Trumpet, trombone or tuba ??? Does she manage her spit valve effectively ??

Hope she doesn't Bugle in bed..........

Oh, I am SO tempted to type what is on my mind, but am sure it would get censored:)

Pete, you need a classic car too so you can go to all the car shows and cruise nights down there. Lots of fun and great people to meet.

But that Miata does look great...and fun too. You're lucky you got the hardtop for it too. And I hear those Miatas are chick magnets. ;)

I bet you wish you still had the Mule seeing you're on the beach.

I had thought about bringing the Mule, but motorized vehicles aren't allowed on the beach here (except for the "sea turtle preservation" patrol vehicle). And the Mule top speed is only 25 mph, so the traffic would get backed up behind me, and I'd have some very upset Snow Birds (not that THAT would bother me, heh, heh). And lastly, the problem of parts. Parts are not too difficult to come by, but if the Mule were to break down on the road, it's not easy to push! So, although I miss riding it, I am glad I sold it to a collector who will take care of it.

I sold my Mule. Used to belong to the Georgia chapter of MVPA, also the North Florida chapter many years ago, in addition to the National MVPA, when I owned a 52 Willys, and later on, a 45 Willys MB.

Sold the jeeps many years ago, regretfully. But the MVPA, be it state or Natl., are good groups to join, and plenty of information to be learned from their members. Pete

Hi Chief. I had meetings with NASA two weeks ago and was sick all of last week and missed all this! Congrats on the house sale!! BUT .... especially congrats on the MX-5! She looks nice. I told you it was fun. Do your cheeks still hurt from smiling after driving it? LOL! I still love mine, and I've had it for 3 years now. Have fun!!

Don
