Solid State HD for CFS3

Anyone else using a separate SS HD just to run CFS. Installed one yesterday and the time it took to load was very fast. I flew a PTO Pearl Harbor mission with all sliders on 4, clouds, flak , 25 aircraft in the sky and not a stutter. This used to bring my rig to it's knees. Just wondering if anyone else has tried this?

Interesting. So with no other changes to your rig it produced a major improvement? I've been looking into this, might be worth it. How is yours connected? Is it an external drive or inside the tower?

Am running twin 120Gb SSD hds. I have OS etc one one HDD, and the other is crammed with CFS3 instals. It does all the good quick things that solid state memory is supposed to do as far as I can tell. I simply separated the OS and cfs3 out of habit, with old HDDs it was a better configuration, however now with flash memory it may not make a difference.

I'm going with dual SSD's , 1 TB each on my gaming pc i'm going to be building. Prices are dropping all the time on hardware .

SSD

Wow! a 1 TB SSD this must be new as here in Africa 120 gig is the limit and expensive as hell prices never drop the Rand weakens all the time so wer`e stymied.
alcanallen.

Plan on using two WD SSD . Just under 1tb and they are very reliable. With all the combat flight sims i have and want a dual setup is needed. Il-2 '46 installs and CFS3 versions take up a lot space .

I see a little improvement with it, but I have an older bus and SATA connection on my motherboard, so the difference is minimal. (228 MB/sec versus 150 MB/sec peak speed)
