Some MAIW at Bagram

Having spent a little quality time in Afghanistan, I thought I'd see what AI one could put together.
MAIW have most of what you need, a bit of cut 'n paste and you're done.
The models are really quite good, with some extras like pilot animation and so on.

Thanks WH... now I am doing the same at Kandahar!

In the background at the beginning of the above clip I am running the Hovercontrol model in Flight1's helicopter package, but this will break my computer for the 30 or so Black Hawks needed.

Does anyone know of an AI package containing UH-60's I can pillage?

I'm unaware of any, best advise Ican give is look for some FS2002 versions, theymay be lighter of poly and thus easier on the frames.

Yes I did find an Egyptian AF package which used a FS2002 Blackhawk.
It's not to be found in the usual places, and the author's quoted website is kaput

I am hoping MAIW come up with a Blackhawk some time soon...

You can update those A-10A's to the new A-10C AI models that we released a couple months back now if you wish. 24 new variations to chose from, they use the original master textures so no need for new repaints, you can just do a simple model swap.

There is also a comprehensive research document included that shows every A-10 in the inventory and whether or not it's been converted to the new C model standard. Most of them have been converted already.

OK, nothing but the best for the boys at Bagram:

Now...about this Blackhawk...

Just One More...

Actually, short of a few B-2's, you can drop just about anything into Bagram and get away with it...lots of goodies in the MAIW bag

Be good when they release a Predator, too.

Did you ever swap the A-10's for the new models?

I actually made 4 (I think?) variations just for use in Afghanistan based on real world pictures of loadouts that I found on line. That's really the only place you'd see these loadouts on an A-10C these days.

I thought I had, as I went and downloaded the Selfridge ANG A-10C package above!
Being essentially an avionics update, I didn't know any better.

I'll download the standalone A-10C update then...thanks.

OK all sorted - nice update!

Many thanks to Paul Day for pushing me in this direction, found the FS2k2 model at Simviation, and Holger's AI adaptation for it

The model is a tad undersized - I'd say 95% but I'll keep them away from the Apaches so it shouldn't be too much of a bother.

I see there are some moves afoot over at MAIW which will be great.
Love their Global Hawk.

Meantime, there's nothing wrong with Piglet's Predator 1A
Couldn't find any other UAV/UCAV other than Kaz Ito's X-45
A Reaper or Predator 2 might be a cool toy...
