Some questions about "clean" installs

Loving the game, have nothing to complain about. Over Flanders Fields is my favorite virtual place to be now.

As I mentioned in the header I have a done a clean install of OFF, just using my CFS3 DVD during install. As far as I can see this has had the following consequences:

1. I don't get a cfs3config file in the Microsoft Games folder. This means I am unable to tweak some of the settings. I can't edit my joystick settings for instance. Not a major problem as I use Saitek's profile editor instead. Is there a way to work around this or do I just have to live with it? Again, this is NOT, in any way, ruining my game. I'm just curious.

2. I can't find my screenshots. Where do they go?

Anyone who would like to share the pros and cons of doing a CFS3 install or not?

You access the CFS3 config file via the OFF workshop (it has a button for that in there).

Is there a joystick editor in CFS3? If I recall correctly the best you get is CFS3 puts you into the OS's own Game Controller utility, which you can access anyway via Control Panel.

Thanks Siggi. I don't get access to all the tweaks through that cfs3config in the Workshops. I get the sliders and a resolution setting, that's it. From what I understand, if you do a CFS3 install, there will be another cfs3config in the Microsoft Games folder where you can fiddle even more with the graphics settings, among other things.
I've also read about joystick profile (Mine) that I believe are accessed through that config file only. Not 100% sure on that one though.

Again, this is no biggie, graphics are great as is and joystick settings can be fiddled through an external program.

there should be a config exe in your main CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields folder, same in all the other game folders, MAW, ETO, etc....the little wrench thingie. That'll open or, as Siggi suggested, from the workshop menu....and all the other settings work via the drop down menus that appear out of "file". With the game running hit "esc" and you can access "controls" in the drop down hanger menu.........map your stick, keyboard to your heart's content.....don't try to change the "mine" label

Ah, sorry, for some reason I was thinking of the joystick axis' (deadzones, sensitivities etc). The stick can indeed be button-mapped in the CFS3 config (but only from within the game while it's running).

So if CFS3 isn't fully installed, the "File" menu for the config-panel doesn't work via OFF?

From within the game ... of course. Thank you!

Nevermind me, carry on!
