G'day, chaps...

Anyone recommend a good sound pack for the Alpha Bleu Ceil F8F Bearcat? :salute:

I'm not on my FS machine right now so I can't check for sure but there is a single R-2800 sound set out there that works admirably. Check files by either Nigel or Gary Jones. I use them in my ABC Corsair, too!

I always thought Lawdog's sound set was a pretty good representation of the engine sounds produced by the Bearcat. The F8F used a "C"-series engine, so there was a pronounced and distinctive whine from the prop reduction gear. The F8F also had a very staccato exhaust note at idle, Lawdog did a nice job with his sound set.

Hmmm... looks like I can't download anything from the Warbirds Archive, my log-in works but that's it. When I click on a link, it just takes me back to the SOH Home page :pop4: .... weird.

I'll check out Gary Jones' sounds tho.

Blackbird, not sure if this is a help but when you get returned to the home page is thera another page inbetween the two? I'm helping out moving the Archive to Simouthouse and when I click to D/L a file I pass through another page to the home page. Clicking out of the home page gives me the page where the file comes up with a choice of opening or saving. Is that any help?

It must have been a slight glitch, because everything is fine now. I grabbed Lawdogs Bearcat Sounds and I'm installing them now.
