I can't believe I have to ask this. Is that an FSX version of a real-world Special Forces PC-12, or is that a photo of the actual real-world aircraft itself? I guess that question either speaks to how far we've come with Flight Simulator, or to how bad my eyes may be getting lol.

If no one else wants to do it, I can give it a shot for you. But it would be at least a few days before I could probably start on it, as I'm already in the middle of a Kodiak repaint at the moment. I have a couple of questions (as I'm sure anyone who ultimately does this paint for you will want to know).

1) Do you want it completely without markings, just the numbers as it shows on that aircraft? I looked at a few special forces aircraft photos on google, and they all had USAF markings on them (though very subtle, grey markings with no additional color at all).

2) What would you like the number of the aircraft to be?

3) As we know from another post here in the forums, the military uses several shades of grey. What part of the spectrum (from whitish-gray to medium-gray to bluish-gray) would you prefer the color to be?

That's all the questions I can think of. Again, if someone else wants to do this before I can start it, that will be fine, but if no one wants to, I'll be happy to give it a go.

Hi George

This is the actual texture of the real Special Forces aircraft with the actual markings. By the way it is stationed at the Special Forces base (Hurlburt Field) in Florida. And yes, this is a FSX picture. I have the real picture next to a Special Forces C-130 somewhere in my files. That would be excellent if you could do it. And yes, grey markings with no additional colors would be excellent.

P.S.
This is the actual ac#.

I've been looking some more into this, and I think I found the photo you were talking about. Are you just looking for a Kodiak version of that specific aircraft, or just a Kodiak Special Forces?

I only ask since obviously we're putting it on a Kodiak instead of a PC-12 (U-28A), and want to know if you just want that paint replicated onto a Kodiak, or if you want it customized in any way. That's why I asked about the number and markings earlier.

Finally, from what I saw of 50573, it is a much lighter gray than the one in your screenshot. Do You want me to try to stick to the original's color, or do you want me to try and match the color in your screenshot?

It'll probably still be a few days, at least, until I can really work on it, but I have started playing around with it in the template and don't think it's going to take long to do once I can spend a little time focusing on it. :)

Stick with the original color as on the real U-28A. US markings would be fine since the Air Force does not use the Kodiak yet. Thanks for taking this on.....much appreciated.

P.S. I have to admit the black & white one on airliners.net is way cool!!
(on the PC-12 also)

Hi Dick,

Are you talking about that black and white one with 70736 for the tail number? That's a beauty!

I've done some work on it, so I figured I'd post a couple of shots to let you see how it's coming along. Let me know your likes/dislikes about the progress. :)

Hi Dick,

I've gotten around to doing a little bit more, so the exterior is pretty close to done. I'm going to try and see if I can work the pilot into something more appropriate for the plane's theme.

Let me know if you like or dislike the addition of the black paint. I'm also curious if you can make out what words (or name) is under the pilot's window, and if not, do you want something written there?

Hi George

Excellent! The color is perfect. I would love to see the AC# on the tail, small U.S. Air Force letters under the pilots windows, no USAF or AF insignia on the wing or fuselage. That would be perfect. The pilot to fit the aircraft (special forces) would be a bonus!

P.S. I really appreciate what you are doing.

Thanks
Dick

Hi Dick.

I made the changes you requested, however I really liked the USAF logos, so I'm including a version that includes the logos, which I put it on a cargo plane, in addition to the passenger one that is labelled as you requested. I also added a little 'flair' to the yoke, but I'll let you discover that when I get it uploaded. :d

50573 - Passenger variant, no USAF markings on wings or fuselage, small US Air Force on pilot-area doors.

50574 - Cargo variant, USAF markings in black on fuselage and wings.

Here's some screens of both variants. I'll be uploading them here once I get upload permission. :)

Here's the pics (check out the second one to see at least part of what I put on the pilot.)

And here is my replica of a special forces PC12...not special forces exactly, but US Customs and Border Protection. Anyone want a copy, let me know.

By all means!! I'll take you up on the offer. It looks excellent. The only aircraft I fly right now are A2A Cub, Quest Kodiak and Pilatus PC-12.

Thanks
Dick

I am sure this has been asked, who makes the PC-12? I am also sure many virtual pilots would like to have those great repaints, I know I am waiting for them. I really like all the military aircraft paints.

You are out of luck if you want the PC-12NG. No one makes it.

Good morning everyone. I'm still waiting to get the email from here for upload permissions, so I can post the repaints here, but in the meantime, I posted them over at FlightSim.com. I submitted it yesterday (it's a single zip that includes both variants), and they put it up this morning, so it's available to download at your leisure. :)

Edited to add: The filename is: kodiak_sf50573.zip

@euroastar350 - That's a really nice looking paint. I never got around to buying the PC-12, but if I did have it, I'd certainly want that paint. :)
