A58-390 was delivered to the RAAF in February 1944 having previously been allocated the RAF serial JG465. On July 20, 1944 while being flown by F/L F Meakin of 54 (RAF) Squadron, this aircraft was one of three sent to intercept a Ki-46 Dinah near Truscott, WA.
