• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Spitfire Mk Ia DW-O of No 610 Sqn repaint now available in SOH library.

For the A2A WoP3 Spitfire.

Spitfire DW-O L1043 of No 610 'County of Chester' Sqn as it looked in early June of 1940. It is one of the best known Spitfires because of the iconic 'Battle of Britain' photograph it appears in.

It had oversize 49 inch fuselage roundels and 36 inch squadron codes. The underside had just been changed from the black/white/aluminum combination to Sky and was still relatively clean. It did not have any under wing roundels. The fin flash was non standard in size and for some reason had the colors reversed, with blue instead of red leading.

That looks great, I think I built an 1/24th scale Airfix model of that aircraft when I was a kid.
