Splash Screen

Yes, it's easy to do.

You already know this T Square, but for those that don't, you'll find the original MS splash screen in your FS 9>Uires folder.

A good screen shot of an F-86 or a good photo sized to 800 X 600 and saved as: dlgsplash.bmp

You can overlay a logo with a photo program or (like I do) use Irfanview to place the logo on it.

Rename your original splash screen to something like dlgsplash-Orig and then drop the new splash screen into the Uires folder in the root folder. Your FS 9 will now display it on opening.

Jagdflieger, I'd like to do that myself, but I can't get Irfanview to stick to 800X600 when I select it on the right side of the "resize-resample image" box. How do you get that dimension to "stick"?

Next question - how do you transfer the "Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004" lettering from the original splash screen to the new custom-made one?

I don't even have the logo on my splash screen. I think I can usually remember what program I just opened, so I just have a photo that I nipped from Airliners.net that was taken at the TNCM beach.

If you like the logo, you can use this to make your own splash screens. It contains a transparent png:

Answer to the first question: you can use "Splash Screen Creator" ... Or another program ...?

Answer to the second question: with Splash Screen Creator (designed for FS2002), it is necessary to create a new lettering mask. Example, Like this:

Starting to delve into creativity with graphics - maybe this is the place to begin to learn.

Thanks for the advice.

Hi,

I have a bunch of splashscreens that vary every time I start up the sim, including at least one F86. I'll post a screenshot when I'm back home.
