Splashscreens

We all spend hours looking at then : Splashscreens!

I became so tired from the DC-3s in my sims (both the default one as the one in Golden Wings). so I decided to make my own splashscreens. What made me wonder whether I'm the only one or did you change your splashscreens as well?

This is the one available with the latest update from last month. It's version 1 for now: presenting oil on canvas. ;)

Cheers!

Back in the day I believe I had some changed/custom ones for a while. I seem to remember they featured 'WWII Fighters' aircraft from what was then 'Shockwave Productions' (now A2A). I don't know if SP/A2A actually made them available or if it was fan created. I think I changed the FSX opening screen too until I switched to FSX:SE.

When I remember correctly the splash screen was automatically replaced, with one carrying the shockwave logo when you installed the WWII fighters or Heavy Bomber package.

I think First Class Simulation had the same thing for a while.

As I always thought there was much more in my FS9 installs I replaced them with the default versions of the screen immediately again ;)

That is a nice Splash screen as well Jorge! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one replacing these screens!

I try to make my installs a bit unique, I change the Splash screens as well as the GUI.
Makes a nice 'themed' change.

Here are two of mine. I use the original Golden Wings splash screen but I made new ones for FS1954 - A Half-Century of Flight and for FsJetAge.

I guess I still use the original for FS2004, but I haven't used that sim in many years and I don't remember.

FS1954 covers the period from the end of WW2 until around 1960. Jet Age covers the sixties into the seventies. After that would be covered by FS2004 - if I ever got around to developing that one beyond my local area.

I used to have multiple installs of FS9 for different purposes. Now I just have the one and that splash screen came from my old Military Wings install. It had strictly Military aircraft and Military AI works. After a PC crash I had I found only my Military Wings install survived. I didn't bother rebuilding the others.

I also had quite a few installs, all with their own splash screens & GUI's, then my laptop went missing, along with all 7 of my storage devices.
Luckily, I had saved some important & irreplaceable add-ons in the cloud, so it was not too bad to get started again.
Now, I'm just running a Platinum Wings, as well as a Silver Wings install.

Good morning gents
you gave me the idea to make also my own ones
Best regards
