Spookster's return - Beech KingAir

Leg 3: YBMA to YPDN

It's nearly the end of November, and I'm still in Australia. Better get a move on!!

Departing for Darwin.

Leg 4: YPDN to WPDB

A brief re-fuel, and on we go. Heading for East Timor, WPDB. A shorter hop, but the trip to WSSL can't be done in two hops with only 930nm range in the KingAir 350, so three hops from Darwin it is.

Down safe at WPDB.

The Duenna server went offline briefly (or at least I lost connection to it), so the map image didn't display, and I lost online tracking. Duenna recorded fine though, and saved the jpg/txt files.

Leg 5: WPDB to WAOI

Another quick re-fuel, and on again. Heading for WAOI (as long as I don't hit bad headwinds, in which case I'll be going somewhat shorter).

My apologies Martin - I missed your registration for the return trip. I added you to the roster now, and entered the five legs completed.

Thanks Paul, and no need to apologise. I was going to ask if you hadn't spotted that I was missing from that list. Thanks too, for adding my flights so far.

I've got my strategy wrong by picking the Beech KingAir 350, and it's limited range (around 930nm). I'm having to stop too frequently, compared to an aircraft that has 1200nm range. No problem in the handicap race, but it's hurting me in the speed race. I should have flown my Cessna 414, but unfortunately I didn't spend too long thinking about which aircraft to pick for the return flight (about 10 seconds!).

Ah well, I'll know for next time... :biggrin-new:
