SSD drives...a real boost in speed!

This past weekend I installed two SSD drives in my desktop PC (Crucial drives, 240 & 480). I put the OS, Win7 Ultimate 64, on the 240 gb drive, and am reserving the larger drive for FSX and P3DV2. FSX installed easily, but I wasn't able to activate P3DV2. I suppose the installation of the new hard drives made that impossible. I am waiting for a reply from Support at Lockheed. I read in their forums that this would happen, so I hope they'll send me new activation codes.

But I must say the increased speed is amazing! Installation was simple, and I am so glad I made the decision to spend the money. It was well worth it!

The ONLY problem I have has to do with Bios settings. I have other conventional hard drives that have programs on them, and I have to go into the Bios on startup to select which drives to boot. The problem is the settings are not being saved, even though I hit F-10 and exit. Not a big deal, and I'm sure I will find the solution.

Mine installed fine on an alternate HD, and its an SSD also.

Perhaps its because you have installed it several times.

I see that Francois finally got his V2 running. This might be the same thing you are running into. Check this and see if it works.

LM support emailed me. They were quite friendly in their reply, saying they had reactivated my registration information. No problem!

I also solved my dual boot issue, by using a program called Easy BCD. Now, upon booting, I get a screen where I choose which drive to boot up. Easy and quick! NC

I've always found LM to be friendly if somewhat tardy in their responses, they don't seem to work weekends nor around the clock. I have this vision of a little old lady in slippers sitting by the fireplace doing her knitting. In between times re-enabling licenses as the requests come in.

They have always treated me well. Once, they emailed back at night. I was like, what are they doing up this late? Im also 3 hours behind the East coast time, so it was really late back there.
