Hi folks. Having this problem where start menu annd taskbar are missing in vista. I brought up the task menu, typed in new task and put explorer which brings up everything but I want to get my start and desktop back to the way they were or should be. Also, my desktop icons are missing including cfs2. Anyone know of a fix?

i forgot to mention. I can get into control panel and click on taskbar icon but when you click nothing pops up. I cant tell if they are hidden or to the far left and right of the screen.

Could you have accidentally made the task bar 'auto-hide'?

If you hit the Start button on the keyboard, does the start menu popup? If so, I think its only in hide mode. I dont have that OS anymore, but shirley there is a way you can turn 'auto-hide' off very easily. Maybe right clicking in the screen and seeing if there is a menu for personal settings...

And stop calling me shirley..
