Starting at a specified location

Is there a way to start your aircraft at a specified location in FS2004. In CFS2, you can type in the coordinates of the exact place you want to start your aircraft up at, with altitude, and that is where your plane will be when the sim fires up. I would like to do that in FS2004 so I can build my own personal dirt airstrip in the field across the road from my house (not sure why the guy as a wing sock in the field, as he has no plane or RC planes). I made a strip there for my CFS2 GA flying, and would like to have it in FS2004. I will have to learn AFCAD and EZ-Scenery before I create my own little airstrip...but how hard can that be?

create a flight, move to desired start location, save it and check 'make this the default flight', when you reload and hit Fly now it should put you where you saved your flight...

for making scenery objects use Gmax or FSDS, FSDS is the lesser of 2 evils but still has a learning curve... export them out as scenery MDL's make a library with EZ-Scenery, get the BGL and voila scenery placeable with EZ-Scenery.... or so the theory goes...

go to the map in the sim. drag the little airplane to the location, or type in the latitude and longitude.
input the altitude, and exit the map. you'll be right where you want to be... more or less

I will have to learn AFCAD ...but how hard can that be?

Not too hard, Obio!
Remember: Creating the Southampton pier for your TITANIC journey (btw: did she manage the trip without loss? :icon_lol: ) just took me some minutes, although I never did an AFCAD from scratch before. I'm sure you can manage your farm strip as well - with the help of the very well done AFCAD manual.
