Static Carriers

Guys,

I would like to start using carriers, but desperately want to avoid the hassle of using moving AI carriers.

Does anyone know of good scenery carriers so that I can start to learn and avoid a learning curve that is too steep?

Thanks in advance!

Johan

Although I haven't tested anything in P3D v2 as of yet. In FSXA you can place any carrier (stock acceleration) or Javier's (recommended) as static. Use AFCAD to add VOR and ILS. Use Arrestor Cables or Bob Barendregt's carrier gauge in you aircraft. Personally I like moving carriers and have made my own tracks for them to run on but in that case you need a gauge in the aircraft to simulate VOR and ILS systems.

Javier's Nimitz includes carrier tracks at various parts of the world and ready made flights for them. It is an easy way to use a fully functional moving carrier without messing with AI carriers or Tacpack. They install fine in P3D. Most of the flights are in the acceleration Hornet but this can be changed once the flight loads. Alternatively you can take off from an airport close to the carrier's track and search for it.

Johan, the only two reasons I can think of not to use moving carriers is the need to install a gage in aircraft not setup to locate and have an ILS, the other is multiplayer for obvious reasons. Setting up moving carriers is no more difficult than statc, other reasons aside. When we were flying carrier opps in FS9 we couldn't wait for the challenge of moving carriers. Im getting ready to install carriers in my P3D, the next step for me in total transition to the sim. Anything I can do to help just PM me.

Aicarriers works fine in P3D, and it's a lot less trouble than trying to relocate a static carrier to somewhere you want it.
