Hi all

Can anyone please tell me how I get the static FGA.6 Seahawk from the flying stations website to show up as a place-able object with rwy12??

cheers Hooky:salute:

Well, I'll get the conversation going by saying, this isn't a scenery "object", in other words, it isn't a bgl file that is recognized by most scenery object placement utilities like Easy Scenery, Instant Scenery or Rwy 12, rather it appears to be made for AI, however not exactly that either because it has the wings folded for parking, plus it's a full model with all the underlying folders for texture, panel, sound, etc. You can probably convert it to a bgl and someone else who has the correct program name can put you on to that utility.

A bit surprising to me though because those guys are pretty knowledgeable. May have been a case of interpretation. . . .but what I would expect if someone says something is made for scenery designers (in this case being a scenery object) would be a low poly scenery object, which this is not.

Try either SAMM or ModelconverterX, they should help. Hopefully Steve will pass by at some point, he may have some input.

I hope so. I spent most of my day off yesterday playing with SAMM and ModelconverterX it seems to convert Ok in SAMM but cannot get it to show up in FS. plus there's no 'Sync FS Co-ordinates' feature with SAMM which is pretty essential for the kind of close proximity parking that I have in mind. Hence why I'm hoping for a Rwy12 solution. But hopefully Steve will pop by as you say and shed some light on the subject Thanks for the help fellas.

Sorry for missing this earlier chaps, it's been a nightmare of a last few weeks at work and I have not stopped into SOH until now. Falcon is right, the static Sea Hawk I made is a mess, and I am going to pull it down. As he points out, it is not a proper scenery .bgl file, and was made before I even truly understood what I was doing with it. With clipped wings etc. etc. it is not much good as an AI model either. Best bet Hooky is to abandon that one and wait till I make a whole new model this year hopefully.

I have to point out that Skippy Bing is the brains of Flying Stations when it comes to models, coding etc. and I am still a humble paduwan learner!
