still trying to solve cfs3 error

Could somebody from the tekkies please help me with a problem that I have as yet not been able to solve which is OFF and CFS3 related.
Something has happened to my installs of OFF CFS3 PTO and the other ADDONs. When I go to start up any of these it gets to the splash screen and then doesn't respond and says there is a windows problem causing the programme not to work.

I have tried system restore still doesn't work
I have tried disabling services in the msconfig still doesn't work.
Uninstalling the last security windows updates still doesn't work.
Rolling back the graphics driver still doesn't work.
I installed the runtime direct X stiill doesn't work eeven when I have done a fresh install of CFS3 I'm sorry that I am mentioning CFS3 on this site but it is all related.

It would appear at this point that I may have to reinstall Windows altogether.

I have an Acer Machine running windows vista with an phenom processsor wth a geforce graphics card.

If someone is out there who can help me I'll be extremely gratifide.

If everything else is working just fine then the problem is with CFS3 installs, not Vista. If you've gone the length of reinstalling CFS3 and the expansions, make sure first you have completely cleaned out the previous installs. Uninstalling may remove the program folder, but make sure the folder in My Documents and the Appdata folder are also removed. To get to the Appdata folder easily in Vista or Win7, type %appdata%\microsoft at the Start menu. In XP, type the same in the address bar of an Explorer window.

So if removing stock CFS3, there will be the folder Combat Flight Simulator 3 to remove from My Documents and another of the same name in the Appdata folder.
For MAW, there will be a folder CFS3 Mediterranean Air War in both My Documents and Appdata. to remove

Etc.

THANK YOU HAIRYSPIN WILL COMPLETELY REMOVE EVERYTHING HAVEN'T GOT MUCH TO LOSE NOW SO I WILL GIVE IT A TRY

And I have "broken" CFS3 a million times learning it..

Have you set the compatibility to "XP SP3" (or SP2) in the shortcut for CFS3?

And don't forget to click on "Run as admin" while you're there.
