Stinson Reliant

I've just spent the last twelve days touring Belgium and France in a Max Holste Broussard and whilst in Belgium was lucky enough to have a flight in a Stinson Reliant.

This is one of only two in Europe and is painted in its original Fleet Air Arm colour scheme.

I seem to remember that a Reliant was created for FS2004. Can anyone jar my memory?

Bill Lyons produced a Stinson Reliant SR-9C. Can't remember the zip name, but I am fairly sure that it can be found on Flightsim.com. Just do a search for either Bill Lyons or Reliant and you will find it.

FS2004 1934 Pietenpol Air Camper and 1937 Stinson SR-9C. The Stinson Reliant (Stinson SR-10 Reliant "Gullwing") was a four-to-five seat commercial monoplane which was the brainchild of E.A. "Eddie" Stinson, and was designed for private operators and small charter companies. It was the the last model produced by his company before it was bought out in the late 1930s. It was regarded as a strikingly handsome airplane - with its distinctive gull wing - and was known for its ease in handling and its ability to carry four to five people in comfort. An excellent aircraft, the Reliant could recover from a stall and return to level flight "hands off". These features along with state of the art navigation and communication radios, made it popular with executive charter services as well as with the more sophisticated, wealthy buyer. The Pietenpol Air Camper is a two place, tandem seat, open cockpit plans-built monoplane which will take us back to those early days of aviation and the homebuilt movement! T-6, nice photos. Must have been a Broussard fly-in for whatever event you attended. :)

The photos with the Reliant, the Percivals and the T-6 were taken at Theux in Belgium where there was an Auster Fly-In there (where we fly from there are 14 Austers) and the Broussard photos were taken at the Broussard Meet at Pouilly in France the following weekend when 14 examples arrived from all over Europe.

There's also a Stinson in Lago's 'Roaring thirties' payware package; must really reinstall that one.

The FAA one is based at Lelystad in the Netherlands now. :)

Love that paint job, maroon and sorta gunmetal gray. Looks like the car matches the plane?
 
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions as to finding the Reliant. I'd tried the Pietenpol ages ago (have sampled one of those too), but forgot all about the Stinson.

Here are a few more shots of the example I was lucky enough to fly in.
