Strange issue in FSX

I have been having a strange issue in FSX, if I either crash or land too hard, the simulator pauses shortly and the aircraft gets slewed to a high altitude (near space). A short while later it slews back down to a lower altitude (never on the ground) and at the point of the initial contact with the surface there is a burning crater like bomb has been dropped. It happens regardless of scenery and aircraft, I have a feeling that Tacpak might have something to do with it, but anybody here an idea as to why?

Yes, that's a TacPack feature. You can turn it off in the TacPack manager, under "General Preferences" / "Flight Options"
