Strange problem with CFS2

After about a week off, I returned to my CFS2 install (which I had built up over time) and discovered certain items had changed. The scenery library contained only default sceneries, the corresponding gsl objects were gone, and my saved controller options no longer existed. Interestingly, all of the add-on aircraft remained. In fact, all of the scenery and gsl files still existed - in their respective folders - but the various sceneries were not in the library and available for use.

I tediously added all the sceneries back in and reset and saved my joystick controls. All is back to normal. But I can't figure out what occured and I don't want it to happen again.

By the way, I did not make any additions or deletions from CFS2 to account for any changes.

Has anyone experienced this?

Hi,
What operating system are you using. In XP I occasionally found that some of the cfg files dissappeared for no apparent reason.Never did get to the bottom of that.
