i asked this awhile back and then got sick yet again, i fired it up last night, but its just sitting there with the circle spinning and it says checking for updates, several of you responded to me last time i asked, but i didnt copy any of it, and i cant remember anything anymore...thanks

I'm on a PC using a microsoft store version - the one time this happened to me recently I had to close MSFS, open the xBox app and log out - then log back in.
then I had to go to the microsoft store and log out - then log back in. Then open MSFS2020 and it should be ok.
Sometimes the servers lose track of your logged in status such that even though you appear to be logged in - your aren't. It's a random thing.

ok, thanks for the replies, but :
1- no idea of how to do a manual "time synch",, automatically either for the much lol
2- its been so long since ive actually flown, or just even opened the sim. that ive forgotten what the xbox app is.
3- to haywoods post, ill prolly try that first, but i guess im going to google the xbox app, see where i can find it, lol. but im back in bed today. so it will most likely be tonight.

thank you all

Right-click the clock in your system tray, then look for the option in the settings window that opens.

Just start typing Xbox in the Start menu search and you'll find it if it's there.

If you are still experiencing the „checking for updates“ bug at this point you might try the offline trick someone posted on the official forum.
Basically either disable your internet connection in the windows settings when the update circle is showing.
The sim will then show in red that it is unable to determine how much you need to update and then continue to load.
I was always able to reconnect to the online services at that point without any problems. Others had to wait until they were at the main screen for MSFS.

Cheers
Sunny
