SU 14 v. 1.35.21.0

The flight above from me was about 6 hours in duration and it went round & round the whole time.

It appears to have stopped today.

I now have a flight that left Perth, Australia (by AXONOS from the Orbx store) and I had a MASSIVE slide show until the aircraft "got away" from the airport (3-4 nm) I'd say.

I'll just let things unfold for the next couple of days. :dizzy:

Have you tried to delete and recreate the rolling cache?

Priller

I checked that out on last evening's flight.

I used the same aircraft and flew from the same airport .... "Smooth as butter".

I had rolling cache turned off, but I deleted it anyway at the start of the flight.

It must have been "Gremlins" at the yoke! :wiggle:

Thanks

1243 Begin
1246 10% - not bad, d/l speed between 40-60 Mb/s
1248 30%, 59/60 ocmpleted
1250 Download speed just plumeted to 5 Mb/s
1252 OK, it's back up
1254 Back to 5
1255 50% complete, speed fluctuating wildly. I could be here a few more minutes or all afternoon.
1308 90%
1311 Finished, sim launching
1313 Only update in Content Manager is the MU-2 - update running
1315 Done!

Apparently, ~70% of this update was the Soundbanks folder, but there is no mention of the word "sound" in the release notes. Odd...

I'll fly later - got some errands to run. But I'm pleasantly surprised at how smooth this update was!

I forgot to rename the Community folder and ended up borking the sim. Somehow all of my Honeycomb Bravo settings were messed up. Back to square one. Re-installed the sim correctly and am now in the process of redoing my Honeycomb settings. What a pain. I blame only myself. The update went flawlessly.

The presence of the community folder has no impact at all on the update.
If the community folder contains an addon that is incompatible with the new SP, it might simply prevent the sim from loading (or produce a CTD at some point), but then, it will be sufficient to remove that addon to get back to a fully functional sim.

The official form still says you should rename or move the Community folder before any updates, I guess in case any addons cause a conflict during the boot process after the update.

With all the problems I've had with my new build, and reading the forums, trying to find fixes for mine, another big problem has made headlines. It seems that Win11, build 23H2 is causing problems everywhere. Gamers of all stripes are complaining about stutters and lower frame rates since the update. And here's the headline, Microsoft admits it, and have rolled back their plans for the next major update until they can figure out what is wrong in 23H2. One of the suggested fixes is rolling back to the previous build. However, mine is so new, it has no rollback memory. So I'm stuck.

It just took me the better part of two days to determine that Global AI Ship Traffic was causing CTD's any time I loaded up the sim in an area with the ship traffic present. Not sure if it's related to SU14 or what?

I did that and now I have no sound at all !!

Two likely possibilities are a change to the sim's sound settings (happens to some people after an update), or a change to Windows' sound settings. Less likely, but possible, is a corruption in the update.

I'm still at 22H2, so thanks for the HU!
