Can anybody give me a link and or file name or where I can get a good freeware Sukhoi SU-27?

Thanks in advance

Cheers

A freeware Flanker with a virtual cockpit ? I've never seen any. Could you post a screenshot of the VC please ?

Hmm didnt have a VC -- anyway good fun zooming to 50,000ft in a couple of seconds and then been able to get in real slow and land at a local airfield

Even though you've already zoomed a bit, this one is beautiful, can do a Cobra!

Sorry about that Naki...I downloaded the plane, took a look at the panel config and saw a VC section in it...assumed the plane had a VC. Have gotten burnt a couple times with that.

No problems Obio - doesn't look like there is any freeware SU-27 with a VC.

That panel looks good Charl.

Anyway here is the SU-27 @ Dairy Flat (Auckland, NZ) - yes apparently (due to its incredible slow flight ability) a SU-27 can get into here - not sure how what the neighbours would think! (you would probably hear it from your place Charl). Took a few attempts to get my landing approach right but eventually got it down after I wrote off a few SU-27s.

Nice shots Naki

I think operating the SU-27 at Dairy Flat would definately upset some of the locals though :icon_lol:

Pete.

Erm, gents, you are forgetting what we see every day at North Shore (Dairy Flat) Airfield...

Another Russian is not about to cause too much fuss :bump:

Mmmmm ... I think that was the same L-29 that resided at Tauranga for a while last year.

There's various rumours circulating about this aircraft ;)

Pete.

There used to be a Flanker series by Alphasim. I purchased them like ....years ago. It was for FS9 but i have ported it over to FSX and most of them work fine. The SU-27/35 series have some issues with the DVC (as in the area where the HUD goes the glass seems fully transparrent, but the rest is glass textured (but yet transparrent). The SU-33 DVC is perfect but the airplane has a problem with the throttle; It either goes full of no throttle! If anyone has a solution for that it would be great :bump:.

Besides that the Flanker series are great in FSX.

I don't know who developed them for Alphasim, but perhaps they will show up somewhere with a new line if these fine birds.

Did somebody say L-29 ...?

My landing was bad but at least I didnt go through the fence.........(although you take up the whole length of the runway for take off)

Congratulations!!! You are now an official member of the 'Panther Club'.
:applause:

Actually... I think he needed to break off the nose gear, and have the nose of the aircraft buried in the ground, with the tail sticking up like a lawn dart for that membership...:p:

Best SU-27 for FS? This is clearly it. This is the old Alphasim model with a couple of tweaks. The afterburner was done by a friend of mine who used the Iris F-15C burner effect. The repaint I believe was one Yago did? The biggest tweak was using the newer Alphasim SU-33 airfile which Jay McDaniel stated could be dropped in to the old Flanker with the proper config edits. With that mod, the Flanker flies much better than the original version. Sadly this model is no longer available and I haven't heard anything new about a possible upgrade yet. Hopefully it will come sometime down the road or at least be rereleased. This Flanker is a blast to fly!

...landing..or a controlled crash landing?..
Haha Paul you did well to get it down! It is the skinniest runway, (and Lawrie's scenery renders it authentically) I have difficulty putting a C172 in there, to be honest.

DFA, you are right, that is a brilliant model from ALPHA, and it is the yago9 paint you have.
I know because I offended him by commenting it looked as if the aft fuselage had been attacked with a large hammer, to shoehorn the engines in!

Anyhow, here's Bill Wolfgen's model doing the Cobra flyby, (originally done before Youtube and widescreen)

A bit OT for a second...but where can the Dairy Flat scenery be found? Who is it by? Pay or free? I would like to do some serious crashing there.
