Sunderland aircraft: latest updates

BeauBrummie

Home for tea and tiffin!
This should be the last update for the Queen of the Flying Boats. There are corrections which are because as John said, "I asked Steve (Seybolt) to take a look, and sure enough the glass reflection had been messed up before release, so he fixed it. He's also made the gunsight work properly for the nose guns, if you now go to the co-pilot position the sight will work, it's a compromise." So there is a set of replacement cockpit M3D files.

I've included a set of XDP files for each aircraft with revised loadouts (including the new smoke float), which should add more variety to the aircraft's loadouts.

There is also a new 'weapon', 0-1 driver's smoke float which he made specifically for the Sunderland, but can incorporated with any CC aircraft.

The whole aircraft pack has been re-packed with new files and the smoke float, or they are available as seperate downloads.

I am working on a Sunderland mission set which will complement the Hobbit's, I hope. It may take a couple of week sas I'm not so swift as our furry friend.

looks great!!!:jump:
dose the effects.xml include the all the new effects from the Anzio mission pack?

mmm...that's one for Steve I think. But his effects files are usually cumulative.

BTW Owen, I would need recovery time if that ever flew lol

looks great!!!:jump:
dose the effects.xml include the all the new effects from the Anzio mission pack?

Yes it does, and the latest effects are always at the very bottom of my section so they can easily be copied off if need be and posted to your existing effects file if you have one that is heavily modified.

Always check the date at the top of the effects file to insure you have the latest one.

PS: there is one coming out that will be dated Jan 8th or Jan 9th that will include the dye marker, smoke float, fog and a prototype rose colored sky that will be in a battle of the Bulge mission Owen is doing. I think it will be the same one Jeff will be uploading also.

Yes it does..
When Steve builds new effects XML's he adds the new effects without removing the old that are already there..

Everytime O1 Driver updates the effects, all you need to do is import this to MAW and you will also have these in MAW.. If a FX texture is needed for a new effect to work then this must also be moved to MAW..Or a vehicle or ship, facility is needed these also must be moved to MAW..

You will never lose effects when O1 Driver updates the effects files only Gain..

Every time Steve sends me a new effect to work with I always move all of this to my MAW/PTO and CFS3 advanced set ups....
So They also have this option in the various games..

The Anzio missions you have will not be effected by changing to the new Effects files from Steve..He built all of these to start with..
Just improvements to MAW and the effects in it..

In the upcoming MAW EF2 missions sets, you will have some really cool new toys and eye candy..
All becuse of the work done by Many Masters over a period of time..
That I am including with the Mission package..

In my Eastern front missions packages you will bring MAW to the newest levels of effects and items also..

And I am truly Grateful.. to the Masters who have done all of this Great work..

Yes Nigel, my friend they are there.
Love the Holes in the Sunderland Now.. :jump:
Thank You for these..

Too Cool, I can wreck the Sunderland, and see the holes when I do it..:salute:

If a purple and pink Sunderland ever flies, we must call it the Sutherland in honour of Owen's consistant name typo.

I finally found the time to fly the Sunderland for the first time and for this occasion, I've been on an anti-sub patrol in the Bay of Biscay.

clearly, the Sunderland is my favorite CFS3 aircraft, I love this one, thank you so much!!

Mission report:
1- soon after I entered the Bay of Biscay, my radar operator spotted an U-Boot, I immediately followed his instructions until I had a visual contact.

2- U-Boot sunk!!! I've been hit but engines and fuel tanks were OK so I decided to continue the mission.

3- southern position of the patrol with the Spanish coast visible on the starboard.

4- home, sweet home, after about 10 hours between dark sky and deep waters!

Note: on the way back, I've been spotted by two 109's west of Brest but I managed to escape in cloud cover!
