SOH-CM-2023
Good day at Leuchars 10 days ago (been on holiday since) if you ignore the traffic problems.

The ever-reliable Arrows put on a great show in the sunshine...

and there were some unusual visitors, like this rather shy Czech Gripen
le8.jpg

Some old-timers like the Venom and Meteor
le6.jpg

And the ever-flamboyant Dutch entry...
le7.jpg

Even the odd U-boat turned up...
le9.jpg

Aswell as some Polish sunbathers..
le2.jpg

And the odd war hero..

But the undoubted star of the show was the truly spectacular

Sorry I can't take pics like Ferry, but I'm trying........

What happened to our black and orange F-16..? Looks like they are using their back up aircraft.

They said it was 'stuck in France'. Whether that means they ran out of gas, or whether the pilot fell foul of some Parisian floozie, I know not.

The pilot of this one was Ralf somebody-or-other (sounded rude in English !)

Our demo pilot is called Ralph Aarts, call sign 'Sheik' because he once lived in a house with a huge oil tank in the basement as fuel for the heating system.

According to http://www.f16demoteam.nl/ :

Sheik had to leave the Orange Lion, J-015 behind at Mont-de-Marsant, our stop over airfield from Malaga, because of a flight control problem at start-up.

Nice pictures of their visit to Leuchars on that site, under the news section.
