Sustaining damage...damn it.

Aussie Pilot

I need more ammo
A few screen shots for you.
I managed to break away, but like an idiot (knowing it is a game) i went back into the fight but ended up stalling to close to the ground...pilot 123 doh !!

Did you make it home, or were these pics taken, right before the stall?:help:

If he able to nurse that puppy any further than a few miles, there must've been the boy with the big red 'S' on his chest, flying out of view. Beneath the aircraft. :sheep::sheep::sheep:

Well actually, i was ok but re-entered the battle (as i said above) and then stalled it dog fighting..hence i died instead of making it home...never again.

Well, you know, that every real pilot with such damage on his plane would have sneaked home, lucky it still flies; instead of re-entering the fight.
They valued their lifes higher than a victory, surely.

Yes, i broke one of my own rules and advice comments i make to others, "treat it like it's real life and you'll live longer and fly better"... i just wanted to get that bugger.

This "I-just-wanted-to-get-that-bugger" was, what killed even Richthofen. He had broken his own rule: never chase an enemy alone over his terrain.

Ernst Udet was not like this. Not such a glamorous well know ace - but he survived throughout the whole war...

(But off course I know that very well - I'm making that damn mistake again and again). :karate:

Good to have had that topic. It just happened to me on a return flight from my mission. My wingies deceided to crash on final approach of the field. I was still above to provide cover and shook my head watching these three smoking crates in a row, precisly extending the airfield. I was so fascinated to this scenery, that Ihave forgotten to control my 6.
So the Pup sneaked up on me, and tried to score on me,...needless to say, we were dogftighting for about 10 min. Me in my Albie DII, the Tommy in his Pup. No one gained an advantage. Did I mentioned before my aiming is crab.
As I tried to get closer, turning and tumbling, suddenly we touched, wing on wing.......Albi starts rolling, but I could control it with rudder and ailerons.
First thought, "Sh**, you`re a sitting duck!" but nothing happend! As I moved my head, I saw the pup, disappear, jinking, and tumbling. As I tried to turn around, to hunt him down, I remembered Aussies post. Wisely I landed on the next field.

Thx Aussie for saving Marek Steinmann:friday:
