Swordfish options

Id thought i'd show a bit of love for the Swordfish, ive been looking at the available option's. We have the Alphasim freeware version which is fine and include's an escort carrier landable scenery object. There's a version by Groundcrew, which is for FS2002 only, it show's up but without a prop, which is a shame as there's a lot of great repaints on the old Wings and Coffee site. The one im into at the moment is the A F Scrub fs9/x version but with CFS2 repaints by Morton, but work fine in 9, Later today, i'll play with the prop texture and sharpen the vc gauges :encouragement:

I'm currently trying to get my head around MCX, wondering if it is possible to add parts to existing models. If it is, then it might be possible to add a prop to the GC Swordfish. Shessi, if you're passing by, any thoughts on this?

Gents,
For me it's a no-brainer, IMHO the Alpha Stringbag is by far the best out there. It also comes in different flavours, good choice of skins, choice of ammo and 'droppable', excellent UC animations, great crew...http://www.virtavia.com/Freeware/ALPHA_Swordfish_FS02_FS9.zip

Sorry Ian, Scrubby's version is ok, but that spinner, crew, UC, the whole ac pales next the AS version, and Morton's skins can be made to fit the AS one as well.

Andy, it could be added using MCX, but really would you want the hassle against the AS version? ;)

Cheers

Shessi

p.s I am not an employee of Alphasim, or the love child of Phil Perott!

Oh totally, it was just a thought. I'm trying to get to grips with it for a couple of other things, I'll send you a PM.

The old Flying Stations stringbag for FSX was a rework of the groundcrew model, not sure if it was an FSX native model though. Even if it was could MCX convert it back to the older sims, ie. FS9?

Gents,
When I say, it can be, I mean that you can make anything fit anything! lol. The textures on both models are quite simple in lay-out, a bit of cut, stretch and paste will do it. Have a play....;)

Jamie, yes the FS/GC one is again..ok, and there are more texs available for it. But the AS model is still so much better, it would be far simpler for someone to do new texs for that one, than mess around trying to convert models and remove/add stuff.

Cheers

Shessi

While we're talking things Swordfish, Ian have you downloaded the (much missed) Nigel Richards Swordfish sounds from the Library? Really brings it to life.

I see where your coming from, hadn't occurred to me before, opens up a few possibility's.

One of the first things i did after installing the stringbag :encouragement:

I am intrigued to find that nobody has yet mentioned Stuart Green's version of the Swordfish, which, I think, is still available here . . .

:dizzy:
