• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

System specs and thoughts on ability to run OFF

While I don't expect to be able to run OFF very well, I would like to know what the local experts thoughts are on my antiquated system's ability to run OFF. Or peeps with similar POS's already flying. Will upgrade when I get tax return. :jump:

Athlon XP 3200 (400 FSB)
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
2 gb's kingston hyper x pc3200
BFG 7800 GS

Should I even bother installing OFF when I get it? lol.....:frown:

Just tracked package and OFF is at my local post office. Called and will pick it up myself in half an hour, so I guess I'll find out soon how my dinosaur will do.

Did you check the min requirements on the OFF web site....how do you stack up to those? Also remember that this is a graphic intense mod..your vid card plays a big role.

ok ill say something...for starters how big is your power supply
how much ram does your graphics card have your cpu while I dont do athlon seems adequate.

I guess I'm on par with the minimum specs. I'll have to turn the eye candy down. Man i need a new box! Come on W2.
 
I am running BHaH pretty well.

My system is about 5 years old with a few upgrades.

Pentium 4 3ghz (stock)
GeForce 8600 GT 512Mgb (upgrade)
4 Gigs RAM (upgraded from 1/2 gig)

I play around with the config settings until i get it as good as I can.

I get around 28fps running OFFp3
 
Well I got my copy just before lunch and have been playing on and off all afternoon. I can run it. It gets pretty choppy at times but i am experimenting with the settings.

Every body is talking about highperformance parts for OFF3, but why not overclocking your graphic card?????
 
Because for the 3 frames per second performance increase it usually gets you, it's not worth taking the risk of shortening the life of the card.
 
Personaly it is 8 FPS on Nvidia without any problems or rocket science, but it can make the difference in your game. :amen:
Yep lifetime can be shorter if you do not know how to do and forget the cooling. Never had any problems regarding lifetime. It is the playable lifetime, that is short caused by the new games grafhics, yep they allways will be beter and beter.
There is a lott of overclocking topic's at the web, so you can allways give it a try, before running to the Computershop for another new $$$$$$.

note: Do not use the Voltage overclocking its more for the experts. :hand:
