I just wanted to announce that T-45C Goshawk for FSX:Acceleration has been updated to version 1.80. File name is t45cv180.zip and has been uploaded to avsim and flightsim (will be online soon). The .zip file is also available though my blog: indiafoxtecho.blogspot.com

Hope you'll like it and have fun!

Great attention to detail Dean!

Is this new file an overwrite or do we uninstall the previous version?

Cheers,

Roger.

Thanks Dino, not up yet, I'm still having a blast with v.1.51. Cockpit is looking superb.

I know you don't like it when people say that your work is as good or better than payware, so I'll put it this way - it is simply the best out there. Thank you for sharing it with us. :ernae:

D... you da man, outstanding work again...you have to excuse some of these prop farts in here cus they don't understand these fast things...lol:monkies:

Outstanding aircraft. Easily my favorite freeware bird of all time, and possibly my favorite FSX aircraft all time, payware included. Two questions though:

1) How hard would it be to produce a version for those without Acceleration? As I understand it it will work without Accel, but you lose the HUD and all sounds. I have a friend who I'd love to recommend this AC to, but he doesn't run Accel and the missing sound thing would bug him. I'm sure he could live without the HUD though. Can sound be made to work for non-Accel?

2) How's that Tomcat coming along? :)

"How hard would it be to produce a version for those without Acceleration?"
I would also like that as I cannot run Acceleration.
I tried for weeks and after crashing my system numerous times concluded Accel and my computer do not get along.
I had this same problem with one of the Iris jets that required Accel and someone showed me a hud on Avsim that you could use in its place. Maybe someone would ne nice enough to show us how?

Thank you all for your appreciation!

Some quick answers:
1) It may be better to remove the old files and install the new ones. There may be texture extensions conflicts... Not sure.

2)A non-Acceleration version is very doable but:
- carrier features will be missing
- MFD/HUD and their controls will not work as intended or at all. Any experienced user can alias other HUDS and MFD on the display in no time. But the code link to the controls will be lost.
Apart from that it should work fine with SP2.

3) I have to confess that I am really proud of how the Tomcat is coming. There are some screenshots in my blog. There are two things I need to do before releasing the beta:
- find the time to complete the cockpit (it is 90% done)
- tweak the flight model

The main problems I foresee for the Tomcat are:
- It will be a frame rate hog.... Trying as I will the model complexity is almost twice the Goshawk. This will impact the fps on most machines. Sorry.
- The Tomcat is a complex machine. I will not be able to emulate many of its functions.

The fact is that I am spending more time flying it rather than modeling it... So, I am not really sure when it will be ready...

D the Tomcat looks sweet.....can't wait till ya release her...need a beta tester...me..me...me:monkies:

Thanks Dino...outstanding bird. I haven't flown jets in many moons. I didn't see a manual in your blog...am I blind? :)
Very nice :medals:
