T-7A Red Hawk From Top Mach Studios Released! (12/30)

RELEASED - I was in the MSFS2020 store buying the MV-22 on sale and I saw that the T-7A is available. Attractive aircraft, but I'm waiting for more reviews, sale, etc., etc.

Picked it up, very nice model. Still a bit of functionality to be put into place on future updates and I gather the pilot figures from the external view. The model handles exceptionally well and the ECHO19 sound is very nice.

Just got it, and agree flies very well.

Strange no pilots yet.
This is in the manual...

Animated pilot figurines with optional display positions including “self” avatar view and
co-pilot (mission commander) displayable in different poses coming in early product

update.

Cold and dark visual modeling features (pilots displayed or hidden (coming soon),

remove before flight tags, etc...) that are user controlled from the System Control menu.

Watched CGAviator's vid, so I'm sold. Wish is a T-38C, but looks like TM did a great job with this given the limited open source info on a jet still in testing.

Looking forward to your report about the aircraft. Kind of opened the wallet this past couple days for some things on sale (Black Square TBM 850 (Just Flight), MV-22 (great buy on MSFS2020 store) and new computer parts), so I'll wait for the coming year (and next credit card cycle)! Have fun.

It is a great little model for sure and I am getting used to the appearance of it. Top Mach hit a home run in my opinion and updates will make it even better.

I still think the USAF screwed up royally not going with the LM/KAI T-50 which is a well proven and superior aircraft which can double as a fighter/strike aircraft. The T-7 is not even Supersonic whereas the T-50 can reach Mach 1.5. Digging through the T-7 program current timeline, the delays now have the service entry pushed to 2028. The T-50 was RTG out of the gate. I attribute this to Boeing being the poorly managed trainwreck they are right now. I may be wrong but I tend to think if this Jet were to have been more managed by SAAB, it would be ahead of the game. I do hope they get it sorted out but time will tell.

I think they will end up producing more than a 1000 of these by the time it's all said and done. Japan has already indicated they want it as a trainer, other countries will no doubt follow. In a few years when it's all fleshed out, I think it will re-emerge as the F/A-7 as a light attack aircraft. We'll see.
I think it will eventually be the next USAF Thunderbirds aircraft as well.

Just put a bigger motor in it, it will go faster and carry more of whatever you want it to carry. I understand the point you are trying to make Storm, but I used to work at a place where they spent vast amounts of money to do what no one has done before. I'm not saying this is that type of development, maybe a sliver. More likely Swedish / US / Boeing political stuff. Bottom line, its got GOOD lines!

The airspeed being lower is a limitation of the airframe, not the engine power. I am confident that if the pilot leaves the T-7 in burner, it will easily slip through Mach. It looks like the US Navy is vetting the T-50, the M-346, and T-7 as an Advanced Trainer for FCLP and Aggressor Roles al. Since the Navy is doing away with the T-45C and also CQ (Carrier Qualification) using Dedicated Trainer. It appears they are going to use the new jets for FCLP only and do the CQ in the Simulator and then live with an F/A-18F Super Hornet. The E-2D community will train FCLP and CQ in-house on that type. From the looks of it, LM is way ahead of their competitors on this contract as well as the next Advanced Trainer Program with the USAF. Looks like they will have that RTG before the T-7 enters service.

I just bought it and did a very quick takeoff and a few maneuvers. Very, very nice! Handles superbly. Now, I will hope for some Navy paints! NC

One thing that I noticed is that the main mounts and nose gear appear or seem to not be possibly strong enough for the rigors of carrier ops that potential Navy pilots in training would undergo? Maybe I am mistaken. Just the way they appear.

From what I am reading, when the Navy retires the T-45C, they are retiring dedicated Carrier Capable Jet Trainers and using the new contract aircraft for FCLP and then the pilots will CQ in the simulators then the Jet or Turboprop they will eventually fly in the Fleet. Some say this is a mistake but apparently they have tested this approach and it works. It appears that Augmented Reality Simulators will eventually handle much of the future requirements before the actual Bounce Training in the real birds.
