• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Take a trip down memory lane.....

Must have been September 2002 when Tekworm asked me to start the first Fs forum here :) That's the first time I see a reference to "Fs 2002 general discussion forum" and yet I seem to remember it was a while before 911 that it started. Memory plays tricks ha ha.
 
Seems I remember SOH back in 2000 or 2001. I'd been a member of Bombs-Away dot net for a bit and was told about SOH. Back then I think they were flying FS98. Anyways I didn't have what they were all talking about so I didn't get into their forums much. Then they had problems and the site changed and my registration was kaput. I got back in to SOH in late 2005.

I'm even a member over a The Old Hanger but I haven't been there in ages. IL2 and Sub sims got a hold of me for a couple of years or so and I finally got back into FS9, and now FSX.

Very nice to see all those old names appear as well.
It gives ya a nice peek into what the topics were in those day's (though it goes back only 7-8 years, in SOH point of view)
 
Now there is some history....

Kinda makes ya sad that SOH is nearing the clutches of death ,or so it may seem....
 
I'm sort of a newb, I had just learned how to install add-on aircraft and was looking for an OV-10. Lucky for me, when I googled it this was the first result. I joined and downloaded Piglet's Bronco...looked around and liked it here, so I stayed. Thanks for being a great FS community!

I've been lurking in the shadows of this place for so long I cant remember when I came here, there was like three bownloads and they were panels tecworm had done.Remember the Canelos Cantina on the island as you go up the Thames, was home base for some squad in one of the CFS, I have been coming here every day sence.I don't know what I'll do if it goes!!!

I used to "mod" over at Simflight, Panther dragged me over to SOH with promises of gold, frankincense and myrrh...I've yet to be paid and Francois, now you know the truth :costumes:

Yes Roger I went by mahbin for a long time,net wings was one of my haunts too, still stick my nose in now and again.
 
I remember those days! I don't think I left my mark in the outhouse then, but I used to hang out at netwings and simviation as Psychophant1.
