Takeoff and landing in missions Memphis Belle

Hello all,

Is it possible to do a mission of the Memphis Belle in CFS3 Firepower from takeoff to landing?
It seems only the first mission starts from takeoff and ends with manual landing (if you want).
In mission 2 the mission starts after takeoff in the air and it's not possible to land manualy. (gear stays up after pressing G).. I like to see the pilot walking away from the plane :salute: Perhaps some modification in the XML?

It depends on how the missions were written. The take offs (or lack thereof) are part of how the mission was designed, but the gear not going down is not. Were you damaged during the mission? The gear may not work depending on if they were hit.

Missions are not too hard to make yourself (though it does take some work to really master the skill) if you're not satisfied with the ones that came with firepower. Download and install the mission builder and have fun figuring it out! There are a number of top notch mission builders here (I'm not one of them, though I can help a little) who are quite helpful if you run into problems.

Flaps could be damaged as well, or more likely you could be flying too fast for them to extend.
 
SOLVED

It seems that the gear and flaps are disabled in these Memphis Belle missions. (no manual take off and landings)
My solution so far is: Change history and use the Mission Builder to move the Memphis Belle to another 8th AAF airbase. :mix-smi:
From there you can start with manual take off and end with manual landing.... weird but it works. Now you can see Morgan walk away from the Belle after a completed mission..:applause:
 
The real airbase is included in ETO with lots of details.


Regarding the flap and landing gear, now I remember I had exactly the same problem.... a so long time ago!! :icon_lol: If the mission starts in the air then, they won't work while you will want to lower them for landing, this is a bug.


Another thing: check but I think that if the mission starts in the air, it's because another formation also take off from the same airfield. Just edit these missions in order to have only the player that take off, all other formations must have their 1st waypoint setup to 'turn'.
