With all the excitement surrounding the first flight of the DH-98 Mosquito in NZ yesterday got me to wondering as to whatever happened to the native FSX Mosquito that Dave Garwood was working on. I first came across it several years ago on the Classic British Forums and was following the thread for a long time but over time it seemed to peter out.

Does anyone know what has happened to this project.

What, this one?

I've done quite a bit of work on it recently, so it may see the light of day yet!
Trouble with going back to old projects is that things have moved on and what was acceptable a couple of years ago looks dated now and requires some reworking.

The initial plan was to produce all major marks, along with several specialist variants, but I had a severe case of Mossie overload and the project was put on hold.
Now I've picked it up again, but at the moment I'm just concentrating on getting the mkIV done. After that, I hope to swap to the VI.

awesome news indeed! Really looking forward to this!
btw, wasn't Vertigo working on a Mossie as well?

Dave, when it is ready for beta testing I want to put my hand up to see if I can break it :salute:

Excellent news Dave can't wait to do some raaf paints

thanks for reminding me pat I need to upload the other beaufighter paints

Here are a couple of views of the recently completed cockpit of Jerry Yagen's fighter-variant Mosquito at Avspecs (before the armor plate was lowered into place in front of the instrument panel/between the cockpit and the gun bay in the nose).

No worries Matt. When the time comes we will have to put our heads together on the repaints so there will be no duplicates.

I was lucky enough to go to the airshow today, here are some pics that i took on top of a Wheelie bin :) Somethings that we saw will never happen again, who would have thought one day a vampire will fly along side a mozzie or a mozzie leading a herd of warbirds and shrieking across the sky.

The cockpit is very small, as illustrated in this video
Best example to try and get an understanding , plenty of open T11 Vampire cockpits around the world in museums open to the general public , scary part is adding those two engines with propellers only feet away ... i do like the the last few words mentioned at the end of this video ... <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input jscode="leoInternalChangeDone()" onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">

Oh P231...you lucky lucky young man! (I'd call you something else but you're too young...ha ha...;))

Great pics, thanks very much for sharing. Fingers crossed that we see it here in the UK on it's way to the US.

Also excellent to see the 'Annie' (BTW it's on the cover and full article of it in this months FlyPast).

Thanks again fella

Cheers
