Target tow

Hallo everybody, everybody hallo,

as I did a repaint as target tug of Milton Shurpes amazing Harpoon I would like to add as effekt a simulated target town by the Harpoon.
Does some one kmow an effect or anather way to simulate a target town by the plane when in flight?
Sadly my old steem powered pc accepts only FS2004 - so I need some thing that works in FS2004.
I t would be fine to find a possibility of simulated town target as I would to include it in the next release of the repaint as target tuf of this fine Harpoon

From what little I know about effect coding, I don't think what you want is possible without looking rather cartoonish. Everything I've ever seen as far as objects towed behind aircraft dealt with the somewhat similar concept of refueling drogue lines, and were done as part of the model (usually animated by the tailhook command).

Both the above can extend their targets (as shown), so it is possible - but I doubt that it's easy.
It'll probably be a commercially-protected feature.

I modeled the Jindivik towed targets in Gmax, so are in the .mdl.
Unfortunately they are rigid behind the aircraft and do not respond to manoeuvres as in real life. The tow cable lengths are also shorter than reality.

I'm just thinking aloud no idea if what I propose will work. Or even how it would work.
We have para drop effects which can be added too existing models, so is it not poss for someone with the know how too make a banner/target effect ?

I was going to suggest that... :)
Should be possible with a revised bmp and fx file; mind you I found a thread on Flypast forums describing the banner, 30ft long x 5 ft wide towed on up to 2000' cable. Painted red or white (not dayglo or orange... that wasn't invented yet)
