TCA font needed!

Dear gents,

it's not that the RCAF Dakota repaint is not keeping me busy, but a not outspoken request of a DC-3 admirer makes me playing with the thought to set my virtual brushes on this one next:

Although I do have a whole bunch of fonts stored, it seems like none of them will fit to this TRANS CANADIAN livery.

Has anyone an idea where to obtain?

I know that a TCA repaint has done on the default DC-3 before, but it doesn't seem to fit too well...

Thanks in advance,
Markus.

quick go you'll have to refine it, but not much refining is needed.... mostly the R tops will need thickening up, i can't do all the work for you :wiggle:

Thanks a lot for your help, guys!

I must confess that this is going to be the first time I have to mess around with the lettering. Well, one good reason for me to concentrate on RCAF, CF, USAF and Luftwaffe repaints was to have the adequate fonts already stored... (Did I already mention to be lazy...? :engel016: )

@ smoothie:
Thank you for your draft! That could be a thing to start with, but I'm still looking for a better (=easier) solution.

One further advice was to contact some of the repainters that already did TCA repaints. I found a "TCA retro" repaint on the IFDG A 319 which could be a base, but failed in contacting the author, Clemens Pieper (he did it in 2004). The admin of the IFDG forum told me that since years, he hadn't any contact to Clemens (who still firms as a IFDG staff member...). Seems like a dead end street...

Mark Beaumont did a great TCA repaint on the 2000/2002 MAAM-Goon. He told me that he has no higher resolution templates of this job (remember the low-res textures of FS2000!) and confirmed my suspicion that back then, he might have grabbed the lettering out of the photograph:

But he also gave me some very good advice about the font I could use to start with, and so I'm gonna bend and cut those darn letters until they will fit!

So please be patient on this one...

Regards,
Markus.

Dang it all Markus! Now I have to go buy the MAAM DC-3/C-47 (ohhh smilies are back!):applause:

It's nice to know I could help

Markus, I think I found data on the width of the lines that may help. I'll email you the numbers and sample pics later today
